Local Goes Global Project results from a partnership between organizations from six European countries, involved in the field of adult education which gathered around the idea of using local traditions and cultures as a tool to provide non-conventional methods of training in languages, computers and handicrafts to representatives of interested adult groups. Teaching methods used and tested will allow for disadvantaged people, people over the age of 50 and/or low-qualified and unemployed people to participate.
Web-based learning environment, technology-enhanced communication and international cultural festivals will be used as vehicles for teaching and will provide new learning opportunities for adults in small towns, geographically and socially isolated and usually deprived of such opportunities.
The project will encourage intercultural dialogue. Local cultural festivals will make local issues go global. Teachers and learners will explore and share successful practices related to adults’ learning strategies, e-learning, motivation, etc.
Project results:
- Web-based learning environment;
- Five local international cultural festivals;
- DVDs on handicraft techniques and folk dances and music;
